Words flit through my head. Trying to come up with just the right words to describe our life lately is like trying to catch a fly chopsticks. I know Karate Kid did it, but I'm not Daniel-son or Mr. Miyagi.
Some of the words indicate the hectic pace of life - tired, busy, crazy.
Some indicate our adjustment to life here - peaceful, at rest, at home, content.
Some indicate our purpose and vision - intent, focused, committed.
None of them really give you the picture of life here. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we don't have a photographer here with us. Of course, we take pictures from time to time, but never seem to have the camera on hand to capture the picture that would really show you life here.
I'm drawn back to the quote from the Apostle Paul, "Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." (Eph 3:20-21)
What God's doing here is definitely beyond all that we ask or think. In fact, I'm here experiencing it and often realize that what He's doing is beyond what I observe and participate in. Changing hearts, imparting vision, drawing people to Himself, strengthening faith are all part of what we see only glimpses.
It's definitely Him that's doing it too. So for that we give glory.
Maybe my difficulty in finding just the right words to describe life here is due to the fact that it's beyond me. It's God. How can our limited language encapsulate an infinite God? How can our limited language describe the breadth and depth of His working? It can't, but He is.
Praise be to Him!
